Didn't finish it - disgusted to the core.
Suffice it to say that I never 'got it'. This book is a big 'un, The pages are somewhere around 1500, though I don't really know this because I quit reading at about 400.
It's big. It's dense. People wander around aimlessly. Stuff happens to them. Stuff happens to other people. Bad things happen to everyone in gruesome detail.
Spoiler: Halfway through the book, the main character dies. Clunk. One of the main characters. Of one of the main threads in the book. Aw, forget it.
