CTWM Themes

There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion. - Francis Bacon

About

CTWM is a fine window manager. Based off of the venerable TWM, it has something that many don't - experience. It's a solid, light, stable window manager. If that appeals to you, you should give it a try. (But with a theme, please. The default is... well, a little ugly to my eyes. 8^)

Chess

About

Chess is one of those experiments that you have to give a try - a scratch that you just have to itch. There are window managers out there that use every sort of way to tell you how to control your window. There are arrows and boxes and movements and plus signs and minus sign and... and... and...

Chess doesn't do that.

It's an attempt to use 'Real Life' objects to tell you what something does rather than a concept or a glyph of some sort. Whether this is good or bad, something new or a step backward is up to you.

Chess is released under the GPL.

Glows

About

Glows is along the same vein as Chess is - that is, using things (in this case, just colors) to represent window actions without explicit symbols or description of such. Hypothetically, the colors would tell you what the action is.

It doesn't always work that way, but it's a start. I like this one better than Chess, if that means anything. It's more pleasing to the eye. Chess is a little harsh.

Glows is released under the GPL.

Meta

I'm a programmer, father and husband, not necessarily in that order. If you liked the theme stuff, there's lots here that I think you'll like. Then again, maybe not. ;^)
